Photo: Wikimedia Commons contributor

Why go

Tarangire is the quiet giant of the northern circuit: ancient baobab trees, seasonal swamps and some of the largest elephant herds in East Africa. In the dry season the Tarangire River draws wildlife from miles around, yet the park sees a fraction of the Serengeti's crowds.

Highlights

  • Huge elephant herds along the Tarangire River
  • Iconic centuries-old baobab trees
  • Over 500 bird species
  • Official TANAPA park fees applied in your cost breakdown
